Oh my sweet Miss Eliza, how in the world are you already half a year old?! This past 6 months has been a PURE JOY. Despite those early months of sleeplessness, figuring out a schedule and the tiresome task of getting into a nursing grove, I’m already sad those little months are over! You are growing by leaps and bounds every day, and you absolutely are THE happiest baby I’ve ever known. You light up my life! Of course my mama heart longs for you to stay little forever. I can’t get enough of your snuggles, your little baby rolls and how your whole face lights up when you smile. But I know it’s a GOOD thing for you to grow and develop and let your personality shine even more! At 6 months old, Eliza is so cheerful! I know I already said that, but I’ve never known a baby to smile so quickly. She LOVES attention and the very few times she is fussy it’s because she either wants attention (and immediately lights up when I turn to her direction) or sleepy. She doesn’t yawn much or rub her eyes, but her sleepiness cue is that she “complains” as we call it! She uses her voice to show her dissatisfaction with being awake…but it’s not crying! Just complaining
Eliza is a CHAMP sleeper! Pretty sure I shared that last time I wrote, when she turned 4 months old. I put her down for a nap and she goes right to sleep on her own, and then the crazy thing is that I go get her 2ish hours later and she’s just happily laying in her crib, waiting for me to come get her! What baby does that?! Or if she is still sleeping and I wake her up, she’s instantly all smiles! Her cheerful demeanor brings our family such joy! She is definitely at the I-put-everything-in-my-mouth stage, and it’s usually her fingers! She has two (very sharp!) bottom teeth that are just the cutest! I took these pics a week ago and it’s crazy how much they’ve already grown! Eliza adores her siblings. She is constantly watching them, and LOVES when they come to give her attention. Abe thinks it’s the most fun thing to make her smile or giggle or shake her head Nursing has become a bit of a challenge because she’s highly distractible! It’s not really a problem, just makes her take longer and makes me laugh! We will be starting her on baby foods soon, and even though it’s my 2nd time around, I’m a little anxious about switching up our routine because we have such a great groove going on. But I know I need to view it as a fun, joyful thing, to help her begin to explore new foods and tastes. It’s just an added thing in our routine that I’ll have to get the hang of! Photo below: gah! Just love her to pieces <3 Eliza, you are a darling and a delight. I love how God created you, and I love getting to know you more each day/each phase of your little life. You are a gift to our family!
