Do you ever feel like your mornings are super rushed? Whether you’re getting all the kiddos packed up and off to school, or to daycare while you also have to get yourself ready, or whether you’re a stay at home mom with children who wake up EAGER to eat…mornings can be stressful!! Sometimes I find myself daydreaming about slow, relaxing mornings, but for now, that’s just not a reality with little ones!
My toddlers wake up around 7 and immediately ask what’s for breakfast. These kids’ tummies seem to be bottomless pits these days! One thing I’ve found that makes mornings much more at ease and enjoyable is preparing breakfast the night before! This way, we aren’t in a rush to get breakfast all ready to go by the time the kids are impatiently needing to eat!
One of my favorite, and SUPER simple breakfast to prep in advance is overnight oats. And a big plus? It’s wholesome! And my kids devour it!
There is also an endless number of ways to make overnight oats, so it’s easy to mix it up and very hard to mess up! That’s my kind of meal!
Here’s what I did for this summer themed breakfast:
1 c almond milk
1 c old fashioned oats
splash of vanilla
1 tbsp chia seeds
1 tbsp almond butter
This was the perfect amount for two three-year-olds! 😉
What things have YOU found make your mornings go more smoothly, and stress-free?!
